These notes are for those students taking the Insurance Institute of Canada Associateship program.
I have prepared the following course notes from summarizing and reorganizing the text book. Nothing has been added that is not in your text book. Much of the repetition found in the text book has been removed. The information is presented in a visually oriented way, so as to facilitate easier memorization. Where possible, information is presented in point form or tables, rather than in paragraphs. More important topics and titles are presented on the left side of the page, and sub-topics are aligned to the right. Where a history of a particular topic is given, the information is presented in the reverse order of the text, with the more recent events higher on the page.

By utilizing these notes you should be able to minimize the time required to organize and make notes on the subject material. This should leave more time to do the study questions in the text, review former exam questions, and prepare for the final exam.

These notes are not intended to replace the text, as you are responsible for all the information in the text for the assignment and final exam. If you choose to use these notes, add any information from the text that you feel is important.

I also have available several copies of The Associate Board Game, with questions for the above courses, for loan. I developed this game as a teaching tool for these courses; the game is especially useful to instructors to use in the review classes. The game offers a fun and effective way to study for the final exams. The Insurance Institute of Canada has recently begun production of this game and distribution to all institute chapters.
